Documenting daily occurrences is just as important as recording special events, so I’m dedicating a post to the things that I saw while going to and from school (or anywhere except Little India, actually, since I used the same path down to Dhoby Ghaut MRT). I made the trek at least twice a day, frequently even more, so these are my most familiar sights in Singapore. To make it more interesting, I tried to make the pictures as artistic as possible, which I apparently interpret as just tilting the camera and zooming in. Well, no one ever accuses me of being a good photographer.
Sadly this isn’t a part of my apartment complex, but I always wondered what it would feel like to jump in this pool…
The (illegal?) two-part crossing to avoid the slow traffic light further down the street
Every time I see this, I just think of the Chinese character for “woman”
Didn’t think I would eat pizza in Southeast Asia, but it was quite tasty, actually.
I always got “The Butcher,” which made me feel manly, but a bit horrible and sadistic.
Every time I passed this entryway, I would stare at the little girl and feel jealous of her eyelashes.
Never really figured out what the ad was for or actually saw anyone using the entryway.
Smokers all congregated around here, so I held my breath and walked a bit faster
These big purple flowers fell off the side of the Sota building and littered the path below
There’s always some sort of construction or delay…
And on the way back in the evenings: these signs just scream shady business.
