My parents searched for a house in New Zealand for a long time, and just when they found a place of their liking, it slipped through their fingers and was snatched up by someone else. While house-hunting again in the summer of 2013, they found it hard to let go of it, constantly comparing prospective houses to the one that could have been theirs. I wanted to find a way to help them move on, so I took note of a list of attributes that they had either been searching for or had casually mentioned would be nice and consolidated them all into one Perfect House.
While the proportions may not be exact and I know nothing about the physics of building construction, my dad (whose major in college was architecture) assured me that the house would not be entirely unfeasible. They actually found a suitable plot and DID choose to build their own house, but they decided to use plans drawn by an actual architect instead. Psh, they don’t know what they’re missing out on!
With the absence of a virtual tour guide, I figured that this would be a great opportunity for a first foray into Prezi for the presentation of the house. As a business student, I’ve seen my fair share of overused Prezi presentations. But for this purpose, Prezi is the perfect medium to zoom into the blueprint, wander down hallways, and lead the visitor through the house on a guided tour.
